Brief
8CBM Compressor Garbage Truck is a refuse collection vehicle designed to operate in both residential and light commercial service. Features and options, such as cart tippers for residential routes or container tipper kick bar and winch or reeving cylinder for commercial pickup allow broad collection ability.
The functions on the Rear Loader body are electronically controlled and hydraulically and/or pneumatically operated. The hydraulic system maximizes efficiency by prioritizing hydraulic flow and pressure to system requirements.

Sweep and Slide System
The sweep and slide system moves refuse from the hopper in the tailgate to the refuse body. The slide and sweep also function to compact refuse.
The sweep and slide components are located on the tailgate. The sweep and slide system is operated hydraulically and interacts with the truck throttle advance system.
Garbage Bin Tipper System
It is installed at the rear of the hopper. The tipper allows an operator to dump loaded refuse carts into the hopper with little effort. The cart tipper’s quick cycle time speeds up the refuse collection.
Tailgate System
The tailgate covers the rear of the refuse body. The tailgate is closed during refuse collection. The tailgate is opened to allow the refuse to be ejected or for refuse body access. The tailgate contains the slide and sweep components in the hopper. The tailgate may also include a tag axle.
The tailgate lock secures the tailgate to the refuse body through mechanical clamping. The tailgate lock is released by turning the handle counterclockwise. The tailgate lock is secured by turning the handle clockwise. The tailgate lock is operated when the tailgate is fully closed.

Ejector System
The ejector panel is used to move refuse from the front of the refuse body to eject the refuse. The ejector also acts to offer resistance to pack refuse during the sweep and slide cycle. The ejector control valve on the front manifold allows the operator to control the eject and pack functions. The ejector cylinder and panel are located in the refuse body.
Hydraulic System
The rear manifold is a sectional, “stack-type” open center, directional control valve. The valves are assembled in series. Each control valve is a double-acting cylinder spool (working section). A mechanical lever operates the valves. All rear manifolds contain an inlet section, slide control valve, sweep control valve, and outlet. The hydraulic oil flow is from the inlet section, through the open control valves then through the outlet section. Additional control valves are fitted as needed for other system operations.
